“The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.” – Albert Einstein
I saw this quote on LinkedIn yesterday and it made me think.
In the ever changing climate of the workplace, adaptability and change are essential if you want to survive. Don’t be afraid to try new things and evolve. Push your comfort zone – it may just be the reward you weren’t expecting.
I’ve worked in places where processes are in place because “it’s what we’ve always done” and inevitably those processes have had to be replaced, but after the curve when they’re playing catch up.
Same old, same old approaches will start to wane in time. New ideas will take over and have to be embraced in order to succeed. Try new things, be relevant and clients and customers will keep coming back and refer you to others. I’m by no means an expert but I’ve managed to make my freelancing business thrive throughout the chaos of the world over the last few years, and I feel a lot of that is down to flexibility and adapting to a situation.
Don’t be afraid of change. It’s inevitable, so embrace it!
