I’m just curious really. Have you ever hired anyone, or been hired, based on someone reaching out at just the right time?
My workload has slowed down a bit recently, I’m not at panic stations yet, although I can totally understand how this can happen. I’ve been incredibly lucky over the past few years with the client base I have developed and the projects I have worked on, and so a slowdown is part and parcel of being a freelancer.
That said, I’ve had a bit more time to reach out to companies that I have often fancied working with, whether it’s shared principles, cool looking projects, or something that I would absolutely LOVE to be able to name drop in a conversation, (I have had some form of strategy btw, these are just the speculative ones!!), and just wondered has anyone ever been given that dream role just by dropping in an inbox at that magical moment? Does magic happen?
