It’s 2020 and the game is very much afoot
After much soul searching over the Christmas period I decided it was time to once again take the plunge into the world of freelance graphic design.
I chose to do this for a number of reasons, but mainly because I needed a new challenge. I had become a little too comfortable in my seat at Festival Republic and although I have had some fabulous experiences, only got wet in a field twice (the other times were absolutely, sensationally, blisteringly hot….) and have been proud to be the lead designer on some of the biggest music festivals in the UK, it was time to move on. My colleagues and friends, although surprised, have been really supportive of my decision as I seek pastures new and pastures a little less red and yellow 😉
Having started at Festival Republic as a contractor, taken on for 12 weeks which turned into three years, I am confident that something will come up and although a bit of a gamble, something I feel I had to do. I am excited at the land of opportunity that London has to offer, and feel that I have a lot to offer my new prospective clients. I am thankful to FR for the variety of projects I have worked on, from billboard posters to digital motion graphics to stage design to onsite artwork, and literally everything in between. I’ve had the chance to learn, develop and hone my skills. I am proud of the work that I have produced, and looking forward to the new work I will be producing.
And so, as the title of this blog post suggests, as of 10th February 2020 the game is afoot!
So if you can help me spread the word, shout it from the roof tops, keep your ear to the ground, post it on your social media channels if you really want or recommend me if you hear the words “graphic” and “designer” and “needed” all in one sentence, I will love you forever and give you a squeeze when I see you, and I would be eternally grateful. All that said, I am pretty good at what I do, and should some work come my way I would like to think that that recommendation or shout from the roof top would lead to another recommendation and another shout from the roof top until I had a full on business enterprise. Incidentally, if somebody does want to get in touch, I would love to hear more about your project and how I can help 🙂
All in all, I’m excited for what the future holds, and that’s what a new year and a new challenge is all about, and that’s why I have stepped into the unknown. It may seem a bit wild and a bit risky and a bit unusual, but the need for change can sometimes outrank all those things, so wish me luck and happy hunting as I launch myself, once again, into the game.
Congratulations Elizabeth, you are a very talented designer, with a great positive attitude. I highly recommend this lady to anyone reading, that’s why I’ve kept in touch for almost 10 years. Elizabeth is not only creative in her approach but will go the extra mile to deliver, and has stayed up until passed midnight to help me when I’ve needed it.
All the very best for 2020, I’m sure we’ll be in touch very soon.
Thanks Claire, I really appreciate that! I already have the next project lined up, so very excited about that 🙂
Hope all is well with you and look forward to catching up soon!
