And then I realised that the recipient of my email entirely out of the blue may think actually this woman sounds alright. She’s got the skills, she’s got the casual chit chat down to a tee and she obviously wants to work here as otherwise she wouldn’t have bothered getting in touch. I also think that I brighten peoples day with my none conformist off the wall email chat and they may be intrigued to give me a call \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
With this in mind I have recently started dropping companies a line,\u00a0contacting companies that I actually want to work for. Maybe they have a cool campaign I’ve seen that I would love to be involved in\u00a0or\u00a0maybe it’s the sector that they specialise in (I’m very into ways to save the planet), or maybe the team look a friendly bunch. I realise it’s entirely a shot in the dark, but rather than getting all embarrassed about it like I used to, I just think “what’s the worst that could happen?” and realise that the worst thing that could possibly happen as a result of my cold emailing them is that my email is deleted.<\/p>\n
Which I would never know about.<\/p>\n
Or, you never know, they might give me a chance and give me a call.<\/p>\n
Which would be awesome.<\/p>\n
But for now as my mum says “if you don’t try, you don’t get” so\u00a0I’ll keep plugging away, dropping the lines and hopefully, fingers crossed someone out there will give ME a cold email, entirely out of the blue and I won’t delete it and it will be awesome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
